Chiruca®, Marca Oficial del Xacobeo 21-22

Calzados Fal S.A., with its brand Chiruca, attended last Friday the act of recognition of the sponsors of the Xacobeo 21-22 that took place in Santiago de Compostela, where the president of the Xunta, Alberto Núñez Feijoo, acknowledged the commitment of the nearly 30 companies that sponsor the Xacobeo 21-22 and of which the footwear brand Chiruca from La Rioja is part of.

For his part, the first vice-president of the Xunta, Alfonso Rueda, also thanked the commitment of all the brands that are committed to the Xacobeo, which he considered “as the first pilgrims of this Xacobeo 21-22”. He stressed that when the health situation allows it and mobility is recovered, the Xacobeo will begin to take off and regain all its splendour.

Alfonso Rueda stressed that they are working to have everything ready for this Xacobeo and regain the confidence of travellers in a safe destination like Galicia and with a Safe Way. Thus, all the prevention protocols against covid-19 have been implemented in the hostels, in addition to creating new facilities and improving the existing ones, as well as the conditioning of the different routes.

Despite the pandemic and the restrictions, the Xunta guaranteed the commitment to continue working on the celebration of the Xacobeo, a unique event, which will be adapted to the needs of the pandemic and that exceptionally will be held during the current 2021 and will also include the whole year 2022.

Chiruca, as it was in the previous Xacobeo year which was held in 2010, is again the official footwear brand this Holy Year, and is prepared, when the situation permits, to cover all the needs of pilgrims who undertake the work of pilgrimage to Santiago. To do this, the Riojan brand has a complete collection for the walker, both for summer and winter, with lines of boots, low shoes, adventure sandals, sandals rest, etc., a wide range of products, which are perfectly suited to the needs of pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago, whatever the date of the year in which they make it.

The Chiruca brand has always been linked to activities and cultural values such as those represented by the Camino de Santiago, and therefore wanted to support once again the Jubilee year.
